[Letter], April 13, 1849, Harvard, Mass., [to] Grove Wright, West Pittsfield, Mass. 1849.

Letter concerns Joseph Tillinghast, a potential Shaker, and "that poor, old, wicked, debased, superanuated Mary Dyer." Tillinghast has a wife and family who oppose his joining the Shakers. Brief mention of some anti-Shaker matter to be brought before the legislature of New Hampshire because of the agitation of Mary Dyer. In this letter, the Harvard community refers to itself as the Lovely Vinyard.
